ASA’s CEO letter to members and friends

This past month has been filled with events as we continue to spread ASA’s presence and awareness of the appraisal industry around the world.

I had the pleasure of representing ASA while attending 2021 AICPA & CIMA Forensic & Valuation Services conference in Las Vegas, NV. It was great to see and catch up with several ASA members while I was there.
ASA’s presence at this event was to promote the 6^th edition of the late Shannon Pratt, ASA’s original– Valuing a Business and promoted the education programs and services of ASA. I offer my deepest condolences to the Pratt family and friends. Shannon Pratt was an instrumental part of the business valuation field and ASA, and he will not soon be forgotten. It was great moderating the session “Valuing the valuers” with the esteem panelists David Crick, JoAnne Arruda, Jeremy Cox, Mike Dwyer and Syed Zaidi at CJIMiami. Continuing to create the awareness of why everyone should use an appraiser especially ASA Appraisers.

Great start with our first of the series webinars leading up to the International Valuation Conference (IVC) that is scheduled October 3-5, 2022 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It’s great seeing ASA continuing its presence internationally. The panelist included Mark Zyla, Paakow E. Winful and myself. Looking forward to the other webinars and the conference next year.

Next year’s Equipment Valuation Conference will be hybrid this year. Save the date for the 11^th Annual Equipment Valuation Conference happening April 20-22, 2022 in Charlotte Marriott City Center, Charlotte, NC or virtually. I’m looking forward to another in-person ASA program and hope to see all of our valuation, equipment and finance leaders there.

Lastly, ASA’s comprehensive update of our integrated association, learning and financial management systems, along with the website refresh projects are nearing final preparations for their launch at the beginning of the year. An advance preview of the website was shared with the Board of Governors and Discipline Chairs at the annual conference in Vegas.
