Message from the CEO

This past month I have been actively working with our staff and organizers on our Fall events and professional development programs, as well as continuing to spread awareness of the ASA Difference campaign worldwide.

As you know, ASA is committed to helping our members grow their career or businesses. Earlier this month we introduced the next phase of The ASA Difference campaign to raise awareness of you, our members, as respected, educated, and accredited professionals, and hosted a free webinar on November 2nd for ASA members spotlighting the roll out of The ASA Difference Marketing Toolkit.

For the first time, we’re offering you turnkey digital marketing tools that can be customized with your business contact information and photos. The ASA Difference Marketing Toolkit includes marketing copy, graphics, and other tools that will help position you as accredited experts on social media and other digital outlets. If you have any questions, please contact ASA at asainfo@appraisers.org or (800) 272-8258.

I recently presented at the 12th International Valuation Conference in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia. I enjoyed participating in the conference with our ASA members talking about The ASA Difference, while building stronger relationships in the middle east. I would like to thank TAQEEM for hosting the event, John Mathe for his tireless work collaborating with the program committee, and all our members that participated in the program for their support as well. It was a successful event, and everyone did a fantastic job putting it together.

In other international news, I had the pleasure to attend the Canadian Jewelry Association (CJA) Annual Meeting in Toronto. It was great meeting the members of this association and hearing the topics effecting jewelers in Canada. I am looking forward to building our partnership with CJA and explore different ways for ASA to collaborate.

On October 15, I presented at our inaugural ASA Aircraft Asset Management Special Event on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, FL. It was a great program that provided amazing content highlighting aircraft market, legal and insurance updates, as well as networking for our ASA members, students, and others in the profession. Lou Seno Jr. and Rick Berkemeier did a fantastic job coordinating the event, and a special thanks to JSSI for co-sponsoring the event.

Call for volunteers! In our efforts to cultivate a community of interests amongst users of and members of the appraisal profession, we want you to be a part of shaping ASA’s future! We are seeking volunteers to serve on ASA’s discipline committees, subcommittees and local chapters. You can also sign on to become a Mentor or write an article.
