Message from the CEO

ASA’s CEO letter to members and friends

This month has been great all around, but I’d say April has been extra special as I celebrated my 3rd year as CEO of ASA. Though the environment has thrown the world a few curve balls, we have taken the hurdles the pandemic as brought us and used them to be a more efficient. To all our members, staff, stakeholders and friends – I thank you for your continued commitment and support to ASA, and am looking forward to my 4th year as your CEO.

Another special mention for the month April; I was selected as one of the Events Industry Council’s (EIC) inaugural CMP Fellows along with 63 other individuals. CMP Fellows recognizes Certified Meeting Professionals (CMP) that make a significant investment towards the advancement of the events industry and the community of people working within it. I am amongst an amazing group of industry friends. I’d also like to congratulate my fellow CMPs, it is an honor to be selected among such respected professionals. I am extremely proud to be part of this industry with you all.

In addition to these celebratory milestones, earlier this month I had the pleasure of participating in the ASAE CEO symposium in Chicago with our ASA Vice President Richard Berkemeier. We received great insight into the key components of successful governance, strategy, and organization, and learned several other valuable points that will help ASA for the future.

It was a great experience participating in the National Aircraft Finance Association (NAFA) 50th Annual Conference in Napa, CA. As a moderator for the session Aircraft Values – Market Update, I had the privilege of presenting with 4 powerhouse panelists: Rolland Vincent, David Strauss, Tony Kioussis, and Andrew Young. The week started with our ASA/NAFA education day where attendees learned valuable information about the aircraft appraisal industry.

I concluded the month by attending The Appraisal Foundation meeting in San Diego, where I Chair the Sponsoring Organization Committee.  Excellent conversations was had in the committee meetings that will benefit ASA and the appraiser profession.

In ASA news, elections for new ASA international officers is set to begin by May 13th with members able to cast their votes up until May 31st. Eligible voting members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the ASA Election Policies and Process.

I’m excited to introduce our new global marketing campaign, The ASA Difference, which raises awareness of you, our members, as trusted, respected, experienced ASA-accredited professionals. ASA has kicked off this campaign with a nationwide radio media tour where I’ve been getting interviewed by leading outlets across the U.S. domestic market. In addition to the radio tour, the campaign will highlight appraisers in action through live, on-site photos. I invite you to submit photos of yourself and your team for possible inclusion. Photo submissions will be collected between now through June 10, and you may be included in campaign social media posts, digital ads, and on the ASA website and other promotional tools.
